From ‘PhotoFick’ to ‘Film & Time’

When I started PhotoFick, it was a place to share photographs and the stories behind them. A small corner of the internet to hold moments from the road, reflections on travel, and the quiet lessons learned through a lens. It began as an exercise in curiosity, a way to practice seeing and writing.

Over time, that practice began to change. I lost focus on what I was aiming to achieve. My intent had been to build a blog that showcased accessible travel destinations supported by thoughtful photography. But gradually, PhotoFick started to shift toward more deliberate storytelling through essays like my reflection on the American way of life after a single day of street photography, or my review of Kodak Gold, where I tried to capture an afternoon in New York City on one roll of film.

Film & Time is the natural evolution of that shift. It carries forward the foundation of PhotoFick, photography supported by storytelling, but narrows its focus toward craft, patience, and the pursuit of a personal art form.

This isn’t a travel log. It’s a study of presence, of what it means to create with intention, to refine through repetition, and to honor the process as much as the result.

Here, film and digital work coexist. Words and images are given space to breathe. Each post is both reflection and record, a way to trace growth in light and in time.

If PhotoFick was about sharing where I’ve been, Film & Time is about exploring what I’m becoming. A continuation of the same curiosity, only slower, quieter, and more deliberate.
